My Good Maltese Friends -

Though my desk is piled high with work that has accumulated since I've been gone, I want to now take the time to sincerely thank all of you for your time and effort to make WMTS' stay in Malta memorable.

To undertake hosting a WMTS event is a huge task, and you all rose to the occasion. All of you cheerfully and willingly added your areas of expertise in order to make the whole meeting--tennis, scientific sessions, and special events-a great success. On the final evening you probably all shared a feeling-exhaustion. But you should also feel great satisfaction in knowing you staged an excellent meeting.

I am very glad my wife and I, and other Americans, arrived early, so we could attend the Voices concert at the Mediterranean Conference Center. We witnessed how proud you Maltese are, and we were happy for you.

In years to come we'll recall fondly the meeting in Malta as one of the best ever. In spite of the rain, the meeting was still one of the best ever.
